When I told my foodie friends that I’d discovered a hamburger with just the right amount of meat and alcohol – together – they didn’t believe me. So here’s the proof… The Pinotage Beef Burger served at the Red Leaf Restaurant on Beyerskloof Wine Estate in Stellenbosch.
We had brunch there last weekend and my husband dined on this delicious monster – a homemade Pinotage pattie served with caramelised onions and greens plus thick chips. My chicken breast with seasonal vegetables and mashed baby potatoes was almost as good. Now we have an excuse to go back – and not just for the wine!
