Talk

Stop clearing your throat
Say what you need to say
I can take it

Stop trying to protect me
Stop trying to shroud me
With positive adjectives
You neither feel nor understand

Spit out the words
Spit out the words
Spit out the words

I will pick them up
And bury them in a deep hole
Where damp soil will smudge their edges
Where darkness will silence their screams
Where I will never have to hear them again

  1. Words vary in strength depending on their purpose, a word of hate can linger a long time or the recipient can let it dissipate into the atmosphere like a bad smell and never recall the memory of it.

  2. I like this one! No extraneous words, the simple sentences work well

Words are very powerful things, and surprisingly no matter how deep you bury them they take a long time to break down, don’t they?
